Life as Initiation
Hi, I'm Heather.
Much of my life has been an exploration of health, relationship and personal sovereignty.
From a young age, I sensed the interconnectedness of being human and intuitively perceived more than what was spoken or expressed through behaviour, long before I had the conceptual understanding or language for what I was experiencing.
A significant part of my journey has been learning how to interpret, understand and navigate what I perceived beyond the tangible—to discern what belongs to me and what doesn't, and to cultivate greater choice in how I respond to what I experience.
I had the privilage of meeting, speaking with and learning from Dr. John Demartini, a Human Behaviour Specialist, at one of his events in Calgary Alberta - 2013
People have always been at the heart of my journey.
I've always been deeply interested in people and what influences the way they see themselves and move through life. I often saw something in others they struggled to see in themselves and felt a genuine desire to help them recognize their capacity, their potential and more of who they truly were.
In my mid-thirties, something shifted. I realized that much of what I had been trying so desperately to help others see within themselves, my Higher Self had been trying to help me see within myself.
That realization changed the way I understood relationship. Through the experiences that followed, I began learning how to create and honour healthy boundaries, to care without rescuing, and to remain in relationship with others without abandoning myself—or abandoning them in order to remain true to myself.
This was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to co-create and facilitate a Healthy Living Challenge for Seniors 55+ in Calgary, Alberta - 2011
Health was one of my first doorways.
I didn't grow up in a family that approached health holistically or surrounded by people who had an understanding of natural health. My exploration began when one of my sons was young and I found myself searching for answers I wasn't finding within the conventional medical system. I wanted to understand what was contributing to what I was seeing rather than simply manage the behaviours and symptoms being presented.
Caring for his health became the catalyst for taking a more active role in my family's health and well-being. For years, I researched, questioned, experimented and explored alternative approaches, developing a broader understanding of the many influences on our health along the way.
It wasn't until much later that I was guided to formally study holistic nutrition. What I was learning and experiencing naturally flowed into the ways I supported others—working with individuals and families, facilitating workshops and speaking about the relationship between diet, learning and behaviour.
What began as a search for answers was becoming a way of life.
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” - It may not have been graceful, but dance we did!!!
Life has always been my classroom.
Much of what I understand today has been learned through living it. Motherhood, relationships, mental health, addiction, trauma, grief and supporting people I love through circumstances I couldn't change have continually challenged and expanded my understanding of myself, others and life.
Through years of profound adversity and hardship, I reached a point of surrender and made a conscious choice to let my soul lead. I began trusting and following the guidance I had always received, and my experiences became an education in ways I couldn't have anticipated. I sensed then that I was being prepared to one day hold space for others navigating their own experiences of hardship and change, even though I couldn't yet see what that would become.
My relationship with my Higher Self, and the hope I carried for what might still be possible, carried me through some of the most traumatic periods of my life. As my awareness and understanding of Self expanded, so did my understanding of what it means to be human. I don't experience expanded consciousness as something separate from my humanity, but something to be integrated, lived and embodied within the everyday experience of being human.
More recently, deep grief challenged much of what I had come to trust and believe. I lost faith for a time, but I didn't lose my relationship with my Higher Self. The guidance remained.
Finding language for what I innately knew.
As I continued following the guidance I was receiving, people and experiences entered my life that helped me better understand and find language for what I had already been sensing and intuitively accessing.
In 2012, I was led to a woman who would become one of my mentors. Through the Akashic Records, she helped me better understand myself within some of the experiences I was navigating. In the process, I came to recognize that I had been unconsciously accessing and working within my own Records for years without having language for what I was doing.
Being on the receiving end of this kind of support mattered. During some of the most challenging periods of my life, I experienced what it was like to be supported from a perspective beyond traditional approaches and belief systems. It resonated deeply with something I had sensed for much of my life—there was more to who we are and what influences our experiences than what we can immediately see or understand.
Years later, my intuitive and energetic awareness expanded in ways I couldn't have anticipated. In 2020, following the integration of multidimensional aspects of Self, I spontaneously began speaking Light Language. Around this same time, I was guided to begin reading the Akashic Records for others and sharing the energetic transmissions moving through me.
By this time, years of healing, inner work and learning to trust my intuition had strengthened the collaborative relationship I had developed with my Higher Self. I didn't know what the work would become, but I trusted the guidance to step into it.
One of my faviourite passtimes is “swinging”. Regardless of the weather, you’ll find me out connecting and playfully interacting with Mother Nature and her inhabitants. It has truly been one of my saving graces.
An expanded understanding of Self.
During an earlier period of profound adversity, I experienced what I came to understand as a soul overlay—the presence of additional soul aspects alongside my own. Years later, those aspects integrated, expanding my awareness and understanding of Self in ways I was only beginning to comprehend.
Through that experience, I became aware of Ana, whom I experience as a collective consciousness of multidimensional and multi-universal aspects of my Higher Self, of which Heather is also a part. My relationship with them has continued to expand my understanding of consciousness, energy and the multidimensional nature of who we are.
For me, this hasn't been about becoming something other than human. It has been a remembering—an expanding awareness of what being human may actually encompass, and learning to integrate that expanded consciousness into everyday life.
My relationship with Ana has also influenced how I hold space for others. I don't presume to define another person's experience of Self, but I hold space for the possibility that there is more of them to discover, integrate and embody through their own relationship with their Higher Self.
Where it all meets.
Looking back, I can see that what once appeared to be separate parts of my life were never really separate. Health, relationship, adversity, healing, intuitive development, expanded consciousness and my relationship with Spirit have all shaped the way I understand and hold space for people today.
At the heart of my work is the person in front of me. I work intuitively, energetically and multidimensionally, in collaboration with my Higher Self, Spirit and the Higher Self of the person I'm supporting. I pay attention to what is being expressed and what I perceive beneath or beyond it, allowing what arises to guide where we go. The Akashic Records, Light Language, energy healing, nutrition and the knowledge and resources I've gathered along the way are tools I may draw upon in response to what is needed.
In many ways, this brings me full circle to health, but with a much broader understanding of what health and wholeness can encompass. The physical, mental, emotional, relational, spiritual and energetic aren't separate pieces of our experience. Energy is the thread that runs through everything.
What has remained constant throughout my life is my belief in people and our inherent capacity. I want people to better understand themselves within what they're experiencing, strengthen their relationship with self and Self, and recognize that even during periods of adversity, hardship and change, there may be possibilities and ways of supporting themselves they haven't yet considered.
