A Path of Depletion…
A path of depletion is a spiritual journey marked by the gradual draining of energy, vitality, or spirit - often due to overextension, misalignment, or lack of replenishment. It is not merely physical exhaustion, but a deeper erosion of one's inner resources.
What It Entails:
Energetic Drain
Constant giving without receiving.
Emotional labor without emotional return.
Holding space for others without holding space for oneself.
Loss of Joy and Meaning
Activities that once inspired now feel burdensome.
A sense of going through motions without presence.
Disconnection from purpose or inner calling.
Physical and Emotional Symptoms
Chronic fatigue, burnout, or depression.
Anxiety, irritability, or numbness.
Immune suppression or psychosomatic symptoms.
Spiritual Disconnection
Feeling cut off from intuition, guidance, or Source.
Difficulty meditating, praying, or accessing inner stillness.
A sense of spiritual dryness or desert.
Identity Erosion
Forgetting who you are outside of roles or responsibilities.
Confusion about desires, boundaries, or direction.
Collapse of self-definition into service or survival.
Causes:
Over-identification with service or martyrdom.
Lack of boundaries or inability to say no.
Living out of alignment with one's values or truth.
Trauma or unresolved grief.
Societal conditioning to equate worth with productivity.
